PROJECT - HOPE ORPHANAGE, EAST NEW DAGON TOWNSHIP OF YANGON (RANGOON) IN BURMA-MYANMAR

There were 27 children being cared for in "Hope Orphanage", an old orphanage in a satellite suburb of outer Yangon (Rangoon). The building was extremely old, run down and had no beds or furniture.
The children were in need of shelter, food and education. Ps Myo Chit the superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Burma proposed that a new 2-storey building be built on the vacant land next door to the current building which would accommodate 100 children and to additionally use this building as a school.
The Imagination Foundation IF... ,Greg & Teija's global missions vehicle, financed the 2-storey construction, all furniture & beds for the children in 2007 through We Care International.

PROJECT - CHILDREN'S TRAINING CENTRE & SCHOOL, KALAYMYO, NORTHERN BURMA-MYANMAR

The new "Children's Training Centre & School" in Kalaymyo, Northern Myanmar was completed and opened in November of 2007. Originally 30 orphaned children were formally housed in cramped and primitive conditions. The substantial new 3-storey building that the Imagination Foundation IF... ,Greg & Teija's global missions vehicle, helped to fund now houses up to 100 children in far better conditions.
In a God Moment after completion a cyclone made landfall in Myanmar, sending a storm surge 40 kilometres up the densely populated Irrawaddy delta, causing catastrophic destruction and at least 138,373 fatalities.
The Labutta Township alone was reported to have 80,000 dead, with about 10,000 more deaths in Bogale. This School survived and safely housed numerous children and families during the disaster.
