PROJECT - AKHA GIRL'S HOME EXTENSION TO THE CHILDREN'S HOME, CHIANG RAI
Investment: $38,000.00
It is estimated that around 290,000 children were orphaned due to HIV/AIDS in 2008 alone.
Thailand has also endured the horrific natural disasters over the years. These disasters have claimed thousands of lives, and left thousands missing and displaced.
As a result, many children were left without parents, and without a home.
Unfortunately, Thailand’s orphaned and abandoned children face harsh vulnerabilities and risks, such as exploitation, sex trafficking, child labor, malnutrition, poverty and disease.
The "Akha Girls Home in Chiang Rai" in Northern Thailand takes in girls who are rescued from, or at risk of being sold into, Asia's notorious sex trade and they are offered safety, education and vocational training.
Greg and Teija Zwajgenberg's financial support involved adding a second story to an existing facility to provide for additional girls to the program, and included new furniture and bedding to accomodate additional girls.

PSALM 72:12..."For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help"
PROJECT - BAN MEATA CHILDREN'S VILLAGE AND BABIES AIDS CLINIC, PHRAE
Investment: $15,000.00
According to UNICEF, approximately one million Thai children live in vulnerable conditions.
These include children who live in poverty, have lost their parents, have a disability or are forced to live on the streets from very difficult home situations.
The "Ban Meata Children's Aids and Babies Clinic Village" provides a safety net for up to 100 "at risk" children, all in wonderful care at any one given time.
They are housed, given three varied meals a day, if they are not at school, and fed the best quality rice in their meals They are also given pocket money every week for their personal use,
In addition the Village rents premises in Phetchabun for a Youth Hostel such that "of age young people" can attend High School.
In 2008 the Village had started with a few HIV positive babies, with more babies added as additional facilities were brought online.
The goal was to provide an extensive home for HIV positive infants and babies, and the donation by Greg and Teija Zwajgenberg provided the needed funding to allow this element of the Village to be established.

ISAIAH 1:17...“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed”
PROJECT - HOUSE OF GRACE CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT CENTRE AND AIDS BABIES CLINIC, KLONG HOI KHONG
Investment: $50,000.00
The "House of Grace Orphanage" is the first Thai Christian Orphanage in Southern Thailand and was originally created to house children orphaned by the Tsunami and the South Thailand Insurgency.
Prior to coming to the home, many of the children are taken advantage of, without a place to truly feel safe. Many times the children are harmed because of their parents’ addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Thailand’s Health System Research Institute estimates that children in prostitution make up 40% of prostitutes in Thailand. In situations like this, children with no one to care for them become the most vulnerable.
Incarceration, poverty, and teenage pregnancy are some of the many reasons that children in Thailand are abandoned. The House off Grace has taken in many children who were left with no family to care for them.
The vision was, and continues to be, to provide a safe and loving home-like setting for these children with the centre providing food, shelter and education to over 20 children, many from Muslim families. Greg and Teija Zwajgenberg provided the funding for building this Centre.
