PROJECT - YOUGOSLAVIAN MISSIONARIES, BELGRADE, MANE & SALLY-ANNE KORUGA
Investment: $6,160.00
In the wake of the Balkan War, where over 250,000 people died and hundreds of thousands were displaced, from 1997 for over a decade "Mane & Sally-Anne Koruga" played a near apostolic role in the development of churches in Serbia as the country opened up and then broke up, and were responsible for setting up the first Assemblies of God Church in evolution of Yougoslavia-Serbia that followed.
In addition the Koruga's developed Churches in Belgrade aiding refugees in emotional pain from the war, where an estimated 14o,000 refugees had resettled, they also developed fledgling evangelical churches in "Novi Sad" near the Croatian border, developed ministries in "Panveco" and "Dolovo" near Belgrade, assisted the development of the Pentecostal Church in "Smyrna", alongside a number of other locations across Yougoslavia-Serbia.
The lack of available Bible material in the Cyrillic language such as "New Testament Tracts" and "New Christian Packs", teaching and training materials for Bible Colleges created an urgent need. Most material was in Croatian. Greg and Teija Zwajgenberg responded to the requirement and provided through Allan Davis Director of ACCI, IT and printing equipment to assist in the communication and dissemination of needed Christian material for this evolving diverse and complex ethnic Missions Field.
In the words of a refugee that freed Sarajevo, her best friend killed and her home shelled, who became a Christian and served under Mane and Sally-Anne's work, an amazing the story of the power of God's love and the reality of conversion:
"...I forgive them. I love them. They didn't know what they were doing"
